Centre of Excellence for Food Fortification (CEFF)
The Centre of Excellence for Food Fortification (CEFF) is established at the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Haryana. It is the first of its kind Centre that aims to provide a holistic and 360 degree solution to issues related to staple food fortification. It is set up to create a sustainable system for imparting knowledge, as well as, building skills, with respect to staple food fortification (edible oil, milk, and wheat flour) under the aegis of CEFF, short-term structured paid training courses will be organized on edible oil, milk and wheat flour. Fortification Training courses will cover both classroom sessions and on-site demonstrations.
Powerful partnerships and strong alliances, which are focused on addressing the problem of malnutrition, were required to set up Centre of Excellence for Food Fortification. Hence, Hexagon-Nutrition and GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) came together to partner with NIFTEM, around a common purpose, so that they can combine their joint capabilities and expertise to set-up a Centre of Excellence for Food Fortification.
Addressing the problem of malnutrition, including the micronutrient malnutrition, through scalable solutions.
To build the capacity of relevant stakeholders on staple food fortification in the country.

Role of CEFF
In order to fulfil its vision and Mission, CEFF has established three demonstration units for processing and fortification of edible oil, milk and wheat flour at NIFTEM, Haryana. These Units will help to
Provide hands on experience on the process of fortification.
Provide an added avenue of research to students and food industry for R & D purposes.
Cater to the needs of fortified staples in and around NIFTEM premise.
